Become One of the Nominated 7 Wonders, Tourists Flood the Komodo Island

"Facility Director of Promotion and Tourism Ministry Kebidayaan Esthy Reko Astuti said, in the year 2008 the number of visitors to the island of Komodo as many as 21,762 people or 7.78% of total visitor attractions in Indonesia. Then after entering into one of the candidates, the number of visitors shot so 36,534 people or 40.43% of total visitor attractions in Indonesia.

"After the entry into one of the contestants, the number of visitors increased dramatically," he said when met at the Office of Coordinating Minister for Economy, Bull Field, Jakarta, Friday (10/01/2010).

Esthy states, of that number, visitors to most major tourist ranks by the number of 34,954 people, while foreign tourists in 2008 reached 20,814 people.

For domestic visitors, up Esthy, in 2009 was recorded at 1580 people, that number increased rapidly over the previous year of only 948 people. Whereas in 2007, the number of domestic tourists only 762 visitors.

This number decreased from 2006 that as many as 1114 visitors. As for international travelers, always increased every year since 2006.

Today, the island of Komodo is at position 3 of the lowest compared to 27 other nominations.
